PRESS RELEASE - November 1, 2002
"Let's Make Believe," a Children's Book that Takes Readers on a Trip to Grammy's Fantasy Zoo, is Available Now
SAN LUIS OBISPO - "Let's Make Believe," the newest installment in the Grammy Time Book series from P. Taylor Copeland, hit stores nationwide today. Simple, heartfelt verse and colorfully vibrant illustrations take the readers on a playdate of make-believe and pretend with Grammy as they visit her fantasy zoo.
Written by P. Taylor Copeland and illustrated by Suzi Bliss Kyle, Grammy Time Books pay tribute to the wonderful one-on-one time between grandparent and child. Copeland masterfully zigzags her lively rhyming verse through Kyle's wildly colorful and bold illustrations encouraging children to use their imagination and actively participate in the reading of the book. Focusing on animals found in a zoo, "Let's Make-Believe" captures the minds and hearts of both child and adult while simultaneously introducing readers to each animal's characteristics.
"It's colorful, fun and heartfelt," said Grey Ghan," owner of the Box Works. "It's a perfect gift for any grandchild or grandma."
By highlighting a relationship that is often forgotten in contemporary children's literature - the grandparent-grandchild relationship - "Let's Make Believe" offers a unique and fun opportunity for readers to create memories that will last a lifetime.
Cheri Humphrey from the Madonna Inn says the best thing about Copeland's and Kyle's books are the joy they bring. "I watch as my customers read the duo's creationsÖ some laugh, some get teary, but all who read enjoy and buy."
